Review from Sideline:

After the successful debut full length album, “Art Support Machine” released last year by Romain Frequency’s own label, this French artist based in Berlin brings this digital EP as a look back to the album.

The title song was one of the absolute attention grabbers on, “Art Support Machine”. “Fetish [ASFR]” was dedicated to the acid-house generation and that’s quite easy to recognize when discovering the title track. The composition is animated by pure acid bleeps while the great bass line reminds me again of early Daft Punk. The heavy vibrating dance kick is an invitation to dance. There also is a great break running through this song, which is meticulously built up till the accentuated acid bleeps emerge back to the surface.

The title song was first remixed by a new French techno artist (cf. Mondowski) in a rather minimal and somewhat heavier electro-clash format. I like the deep sounding bass and somewhat linear style of this remix. Another remix was accomplished by Henning Specht (Hypnolove), which totally reworked the original mix into a weird and a bit surreal-like version featuring acoustic guitar sounds mixed with the original acid bleeps and some space-like vocal fragments.

The last cut was originally released on Electrosexual’s album as well and simply was another highlight. We here get an “Extended Version” of “The Way They Make You Feel”, which is mainly carried by female sensual vocals with a nice effect on top. This song is much more technoid-orientated revealing the wide spectrum of influences of the band.

DVNT / FutureMusicFM

Loving that acid rinse on the original - simple but likely to be pretty deadly in the dance. Quite liking the live dub'd feel of Henning Specht's remix.
