From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals His government through His spoken word. The earth was created by prophetic utterance — “God said… and it was so” (Gen 1:3). Christ is revealed as “the Word made flesh” (John 1:14), and believers are commanded to speak forth His word in power.
Prophecy is not fortune-telling; it is the testimony of Jesus (Rev 19:10). To prophesy is to release God’s perspective into the earth. Prophecy establishes order, reveals hidden things, confronts darkness, and builds up the Body of Christ (1 Cor 14:3).
