I had to return to the funk again this session, firstly because many of you asked me to and also due to the success of last week's https://www.mixcloud.com/MrLob/the-funk-provider/ mix!
But I'd be lying if I said it wasn't something deeper than that, for it is the funk that has opened the musical world to me, that brought me to my other musical loves, hip hop, jazz, soul, afrobeat and of course that early to mid seventies funky jazz explosion. It is also the music that has kept me going as a professional dj for nearly 20 years.
This mix is a representation of the two towers of power in my musical universe Funk and Jazz and when they are put together for me there is almost nothing better.
