Well this is a big one for me and has taken me a long time to put together, to work out the track flow and the groove I wanted to present. Why you say? Well because I love each of the albums I have presented here, as for me they are the epitome of Jazzy Hip Hop goodness.
I believe each of these albums set a tone, marked a special moment in musical time and allowed many of the artists that followed these originators, to experiment and push the genre and groove further. These albums also represented a meeting of the past and present, with a huge nod to the forefathers of Jazz and Funk but with the possibilities that the meeting of a Hip Hop mentality with a jazzy and funky sensibility could bring to the musical universe.
