**SOUL UNLIMITED Radioshow 618**

Welcome to a new foray into the musical realms of soul. From sweet soul and Brazilian music with soul appeal to psychedelic soul sounds and Balearic grooves, the program is varied and multi-layered.

The first album showcase is “Small Changes” by Michael Kiwanuka. On his fourth album, he remains true to his folk-soul sound, which I really appreciate. It’s another excellent album that will be spinning on my record player a lot.

I was eagerly awaiting Rogê’s album “Curyman II”. The collaboration with Thomas Brenneck, who produced the album again, and a number of other well-known musicians proved to be very fruitful. On “Curyman II”, Rogê’s sound has been subtly developed further and the album shines with ten great song jewels. A fabulous album!

Then it’s on to another Brazilian musician: Sam Nobrega has released his promising debut album “Ponta De Dois Lados” on Freestyle Records. An album that you should definitely lend an ear to.

With their album “Si, Cosi”, the London trio Les Hommes have released a pleasantly groovy album full of lounge exotica. The band caused a sensation over 20 years ago with their first albums on the Italian label Schema. In the meantime, band leader Rory More has founded his own label, Sudden Hunger Records.

There was great anticipation for Theodor’s second album and “Holocene” even exceeded the high expectations. The band from Darmstadt has developed a very independent, sometimes slightly psychedelic soul sound, which they have deepened and expanded on their second album. The falsetto voices and the soulful timbre of the two singers underline this even more. I’m absolutely thrilled, it’s the album of the week!

I’ve loved the Balearic grooves of Reuben Vaun Smith ever since his debut album. Now he has just released his fourth album “Land Of Music” digitally, a vinyl edition will be released in early 2025. The album is a collection of lively and atmospheric tracks that transport the listener into a tropical soundscape of chilled beats, lush synthesizers and relaxed vocal reveries. Very beautiful!

The sound of the French-Turkish duo Kit Sebastian lives in the field of tension between the musical worlds of Western Europe and the Middle East. Their third album “New Internationale” is a captivating synthesis of these musical influences that make up the band’s unique sound. Wonderful!

Enjoy listening to this episode!
