Description

‭‭In this episode, I speak about Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭1, which‬ says, "Comfort, comfort my people, says your God."

This is meant to be a message of encouragement for people who were in the midst of a struggle. The Lord desires that we not get discouraged in hard times. Hard times will come. That's a certainty. In those times, where are our eyes looking? Are they looking around? Or looking up?

There's comfort in the madness. Where our focus lies though, might dictate if we will be comforted or not. Can comfort come if we're not seeking the Comforter? Peace cannot be gained if what we're allowing into our hearts and minds is constant stress and chaos that is filled with fear and confusion. I desire peace. The world and its systems certainly are not providing peace. We will lack peace if that's where our focus lies.

When the words "comfort, comfort my people…" were spoken by God, they were said for a reason. The people were facing difficult circumstances and they needed comfort. Maybe you're familiar with circumstances like that. I know I am. As I thought about the upcoming election and the Lord took me to Isaiah 40, I felt led to share that through it all, He is our comfort … just as He was for the Israelites many years ago. When everything around us looks crazy, He is our comfort. When we look around and things just don't make sense, He is our comfort. When we can't see beyond the storm, He is our comfort. Friends, He is our comfort if we so choose. We can choose Him as our comfort, seeking Him in all things and in all circumstances.

Join me in this episode as I review the topic of comfort.
