That's right y'all: The HedRush is now officially 20 episodes deep! Man, who knows where the time goes. So, JB d'Mulatto and Spider Jerusalem celebrate this momentous occasion by dropping their most power-packed with music episode yet, spotlighting one of their favorite hip-hop crews/families of all-time: EPMD & The Hit Squad.
After EPMD took the hip-hop world by storm in the late 1980s, and then created on one the formidable posses of the early '90s: The Hit Squad, made up of EPMD, K-Solo, Das EFX, Redman, and the Knuckleheadz. The crew put East Coast foot in the behind of hip-hop, until EPMD broke up in 1993. Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith spent the rest of the '90s (and even the 2000s) working to put their own separate and unique stamp on hip-hop music, to varying degrees of success. This episode of the HedRush celebrates the good of their legacy and the artists they became affiliated with over the years.
Also, because this is a very special 20th Episode, JB and Spider take a little time to thank all the current and future listeners and fans of the HedRush that have made themselves known. Or at least as many as we can remember. If you got left out, let us know.
