President Obama, Halle Berry, & Tiger Woods are mixed race, yet we have cheered them on and celebrated their wins at almost every turn. However, ever since Senator Kamala Harris agreed to be Joe Bidden's running mate for the 2020 presidential election, BLACK PEOPLE, especially wounded Black Men, have been blowing smoke because her momma is not African American. This week, Dr. Venus breaks down why we can't afford to let our feelings get in the way from voting in this election, and why we have to vote like our lives depend on it. She explains why Race is not about skin color, but instead is a social positioning to keep White Supremacy alive and others oppressed. We can't afford to do that this year, because there are another four years of White Supremacy still at stake. If we withhold our vote or dilute it by voting socialist or independent, it will water down the votes for Biden/Harris, and Trump will win again.
[6:34] Race is not about skin color. It is a social positioning that makes a group of people easily identifiable so they can be held down by the system. Why else would they ask you your race when it came to filling out questions for loans and to purchase a home? This is White Supremacy at it's finest, a system designed to identify and oppress others to keep themselves at the top.
[8:59] When we argue over Senator Kamala Harris's heritage and whether she is Black or not, we are squabbling over our misunderstanding of race. Kamala represents the melting pot that we say America is, with her mother being Indian and both her parents serving as Activists. She attended Howard rather than Harvard and knows first hand what it is like to come from different bloodlines.
[14:28] We can align with the common good for the greater good, even if it doesn't fit our personal perfect picture. There is no perfect candidate. Harris is flawed, Biden is flawed, and the Democratic party is flawed, but right now this is our best option. Once we have won the election, that's when we can flex our rights as civilians and hold our politicians accountable for their word.
[22:24] White Supremacy is designed to keep us apart and divided. In the time when we should come together most, we can't afford to divide and let them win. It ends up costing us for generations beyond our own.
[24:48] If Black Women can heal the wounds around not feeling heard, they can create a space for Black Men to heal their wounds of feeling disrespected. So often, a Black Man will feel disrespected and all of a sudden hell breaks loose, which can cost him not only his well being or life, but that of those around him.
