Welcome to episode five of I'm still standing, a podcast about trauma, in this episode I talk to comedian Julie Grady-Thomas. We are talking about our own traumas and I think people can think we are flippant, but we went through it, we can talk about it in any way we feel better! Now we have that out of the way I do think it's best to offer a trigger warning as we speak about abuse from a partner leading to an attempt on Julie's life. This sounds pretty heavy, but Julie and I manage to approach it in a lighthearted way, as is the brand! We discuss this and other things that have affected us and the good and bad ways we have dealt with them, throughout the series, we discuss a wide range of traumas so stay tuned for other subjects if this isn't for you. Julie is an American writer/comedian who kicked off her career in Newcastle upon Tyne, her work has been featured on BBC Radio 4 and Elle UK. Check her out on instagram.com/jgradythomas/ or through her sketch group Box of charms and in her debut solo stand-up show Bad pancake. She also has a wonderful dog Oscar!
