Description

Responsibility is more along the lines of action.  Responsibility can be shared, but when it comes to accountability it is the primary responsibility of the individual.  It is important for us to be accountable in all our relationships, whether they are intimate relationships, friendships, or work related. What we realize is when we begin to take ownership for our wrongs, and our mess-ups, things become better relationally.

Accountability comes into play when we first listen to understand instead of listening to react, or waiting for the other person to finish so we can say what we want to.  It requires us to accept the fact that maybe what the other person is saying is right, which is not alway easy to do.  And sometimes it consists of us asking for forgiveness.  It’s easier to say we are sorry than it is to cause a fight over something that may not be too big of a deal.
