Listen

Description

Today we are continuing our conversation with Sharon Cooper, sister of Sandra Bland who lost her life in after being pulled over by a police officer. If you have not yet, please check out the first half of our conversation where Sandara shares with us the impact losing a sister has had on her life as well as the mental health implications of racism and living in a constant state of fear.

Today we dig more into self-care practices during difficult times, the appropriate way to support someone who is going through a tragedy, and why community is so important. As Sharon says, “Take off your cape, you do not have to do it alone.”

We also demystify mental health therapy and encourage listeners that even if you do not see a therapist, to find a tribe of like-minded individuals that you feel safe with.  There is power in community and utilizing connection will help tremendously in your healing journey.
