Description

In this episode I sit down with a very talented Hannah Baek Wha, a folkstyle artist who is actually holding her first exhibition later this month at Tea Angle in Marrickville.

We talk about her upbringing as an adoptee and some of the challenges she faced growing into the person she is now, having wrestled with her Korean / Asian heritage whilst growing up in a Caucasian household in Tasmania.

I never know what to expect when I speak to people, because the surface level conversations we make during small talk are definitely no comparison to getting into people's stories of how they have come to be where they are and I'm so grateful that people feel comfortable enough with me to share these things.

I think there are a lot of immigrants who did find it difficult growing up in western society, trying to 'fit in' but also trying to understand their heritage, so I hope this resonates for some of you!

Enjoy!
