Scripture Summary:
In Ephesians 2:11–22, Paul reminds Gentile believers that they were once separated from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel, and without hope and without God. But now, through Christ Jesus, they have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Jesus is our peace, who has broken down the dividing wall between Jews and Gentiles by abolishing the law of commandments and creating one new humanity. Through Him, both groups have access to the Father by one Spirit. Paul describes the church as a holy temple, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ as the cornerstone. Together, believers are being built into a dwelling place for God.
