Scripture Summary:
In Ephesians 5:1–21, Paul calls believers to imitate God and live in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself as a sacrifice. He urges them to avoid sexual immorality, impurity, greed, obscenity, and foolish talk, as these are not fitting for God's holy people. Instead, they should live with thanksgiving and remember that such sins have no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Paul warns against being deceived by empty words and calls believers to live as children of light, producing what is good, right, and true. They are to expose the deeds of darkness, live wisely, and make the most of every opportunity, understanding the Lord's will. He contrasts being drunk with winewith being filled with the Spirit, encouraging believers to speak with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, give thanks always, and submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
