Description

To mark the 50 year anniversary of the landing on the moon, Ross Daniels presents an anthology of character sketches through a feel-good tale that blends sci-fi, satire and music. One Small Trip centres on a cut-rate Australian space agency that has “decided to return us to the moon. Thing is they’re only sending people they think are expendable.”

Out Cast Theatre production, Bitch, Antigone is a wicked retelling of the Greek classic by Sophocles. Steven Dawson chats with the Cabaret Room about writing the play and where the for this play came from. The play has several diversions from the original as “three desperate, confused actors attempt to claim the glittering prize at the Dionysian Drama Festival without killing each other first or launching into Barbra Streisand numbers”.

Music in this episode includes: My Husband Makes Movies (Tina Arena), Zing went the Strings of my Heart (Caroline O’Connor), Pure Imagination (Rhonda Burchmore), Call Me Irresponsible (Dave Campbell), Who Can I Turn To (When Nobody Needs Me) (Anthony Warlow), Maybe This Time (Tina Arena), Blue Skies / Let’s Face the Music and Dance (Lucy Maunder), and Lily’s Eyes (Anthony Warlow)
