Tonight Erinsborough’s first transgender resident, Mackenzie, debuts on Australia’s longest running soap Neighbours. The actor is 19 year old Georgie Stone, and she joined Mikey and Andy on the phone to discuss the journey to get this historic LGBTIQ+ representation on Australian screens.
Georgie’s mum Rebekah Robertson is on the line as well to discuss her book About a Girl, telling her own story about learning to raise and support a transgender child when there was little information available.
Neighbours airs weeknights at 6:30 on 10Peach. Georgie’s debut airs August 30.
About a Girl hits stores on September 3rd through Penguin Random House Publishing.
