What woman doesn't want to be thought of as being beautiful in some way? For Baby Boomer women, steeped in a culture of women's value being equated with her beauty, and movies of beautiful Disney princesses (and evil stepmothers), aging and fading looks can hit us hard. We may "know better" but part of our identity may be tied up with having been considered young and pretty. Superficial though it may seem, it's a pain many women grapple with - and hesitate to talk about BECAUSE it seems so shallow!
