Wildlife biologist Mac Barrett returns to Scarlet Falls in Seconds to Live by Melinda Leigh, and as he drives to his remote cabin, he crashes his jeep to avoid hitting a naked body in the road. When he regains consciousness, the body is gone. Police detective Stella is skeptical of Mac's story, until his description of the body matches a missing woman.
