Network News at the top of the hour (5:00 AM)
Larry reads the weather, and dates the program Tuesday January 3rd, 1978
Ace Glick reads the sports scores.

Larry kicks off the last half hour by announcing that Carl DeSuze called in ill and he doesn’t know who will be here at 5:30 AM, maybe Muck!

Time Check: 7 Minutes after 5.

Next caller is Al who said he cannot walk due to suffocation as a young child when he experienced brain damage. This is a very sobering call for Larry, but he does very well handling the subject by asking Al some delicate questions in a way that only The Commander can do.

Commercials.

Next call Dave from Maryland a 1st time caller (round of applause). Dave asks a few questions about the caller just before the news, Fred the retired police officer. Dave is Police Officer in Glen Burnie, Md. It is Dave’s birthday today and he says they listen to Larry during the midnight shift. This is where my tape ends.
