Description

Next caller, Nancy first time caller (round of applause) has been listening since she was 13 years old. Nancy does clerical work for a computer company. A signal fade brings in KDKA Pittsburgh for a few seconds. Nancy says Larry sounds different on the telephone. Larry questions her why.

Next call, Joe just started a new job as a security guard for Boston Edison working the night shift. Joe attended Westfield State College. Larry and Joe discuss a possible mutual acquaintance at Westfield College. Joe and Larry touch on the subject of civil service exams. Joe’s brother has a band and his father is a disc jockey at WOTW in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Next caller is Paul from Dorchester (first time caller) round of applause. Paul is a bartender, and asks Larry something about his stage show. Larry says he can’t talk about it because the WBZ management asked him not to talk about it. Larry asks Paul about a “Jack Daniels Manhattan” drink.

Time check, 16 minutes after Four. Larry says we’ll take a call in 60 seconds.

Instead if taking a call, without any announcement a 5 minute comedy bit by Jackie Mason is played. Perhaps it was a technical problem that needed to be corrected.
