Description

Our text this week is a bit messy. In fact, some might say it is gruesome. No matter how you describe the passage, the pictures presented in this passage confront us with some uncomfortable truths and some troubling questions. Yet we are encouraged by Paul’s words to Timothy as he challenged him to “…continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3:14-15). For this reason there is no need to shy away from these verses in 2 Samuel 21. In fact, contained within these verses is a foundational truth and theme that we find running throughout both the Old and New Testaments — a truth that is essential to our faith and salvation. I pray that you will make every effort to join us for one of our worship opportunities this weekend. I would also encourage you to invite a friend, a co-worker or a relative as we worship our wonderful and merciful Savior who atones for our sins, King Jesus.
