Our passage this week brings us into some of the most controversial territory in all of God’s Word. More than this, we find a statement of judgment from God that is unrivaled in its severity and finality as we find a biblical explanation for the confusion of our world today. When God is rejected and exchanged for lies and idols, everything tends towards moral and spiritual chaos. Is there hope? This is so important, because by the time we get to v.32, we are all nailed to the wall as guilty. Is there hope? Absolutely. The gospel always brings hope! We must never shy away from passages such as these. We are withdrawing from our responsibility if we fail to address these passages and relate it to our world. What a tragedy it would be if all we offered was condemnation without also bringing the gospel to those in need. For this reason, I pray that all our biblical preaching here at LBC would also be Christ-centered and gospel-centered preaching that men and women might find the saving power of Christ. Make a decision today to join us for worship. Don’t wait until the last minute. If you do, you might be persuaded by a drop of rain or a comfortable bed. We all need Christ, and we all need each other. I look forward to seeing you this weekend.
