Description

Tara Alemany is a multi-award-winning author of seven books. She is also a speaker, publisher, and host of the Publish with Purpose virtual summit as well as a serial entrepreneur. Although she’s started many businesses during her career, her favorite is Emerald Lake Books, which she co-owns with her best friend, Mark Gerber. This boutique publisher specializes in working with positive people to integrate a book into their marketing or sales funnel to build their business and showcase their expertise.

In her spare time, Tara is a winemaker, a military Mom to 2 young adults, and is owned by a black cat.

In this episode we discussed:

- How being let go of her job set her on a journey from social media marketing to publishing
- Work-life balance vs. work-life harmony
- The importance of using your gifts and talents in your work
- We are always at work, so we want something that allows us to be the fullest expression of ourselves
- Leadership purpose is tied to who you are, rather than your position at work
- If you are not living from a place of using your gifts and talents, you are not living fully and you are not having satisfaction
- Conforming to what others think you should be doing does not allow you to live fully
