Dr. Sharna Striar, Ph.D., PMHCNS-BC, is a Psychotherapist, ANCC Certified Clinical Psychiatric Nurse Specialist, and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Supervisor with a psychotherapy practice in New York City. She was invited to serve as a Clinical Associate for Dr. Helen Singer Kaplan, a pioneer in the field of sex therapy, for several years as her Project Manager in a long-term research study in Human Sexuality. Dr. Striar has taught as a professor at the University of Michigan and Hunter College, where she educated students on group dynamics, communication, and sexology. She has also contributed to journals in the field of sexology and popular culture, and has spoken at professional forums and on national television and radio.
