Moses is dead. For the past forty years Israel has been wondering the desert, and
now they stand on the precipice of the greatest thing to have ever happened to them: the
inheritance of the promised land. Forty years ago, they were slaves. Today they are the
children of God; readying themselves for the battle that is to come; the battle to inherit
what was promised all those years earlier to their father Abraham. Their new leader Joshua
has taken up the mantle and is ready to lead God’s people. They are not soldiers, and they
have no land. They lean only on the promises of YHWH. What does he require of them? To
