
The story told in Joshua chronicles the faithfulness of YHWH. The land, which was
to become the possession of the entire nation, now had to be divided up. Joshua goes into
painstaking detail to express the intricate and beautiful faithfulness of YHWH to his people.
Each tribe has their land. Funnily enough, even though this part of the book is perhaps the
most laborious to read through, it is, in fact, the VERY POINT OF THE ENTIRE BOOK. The final
three verses (21:43-45) in this section make this abundantly clear.
