Summary
Acts 1 and 2 of the book of Acts describes the early days of the Christian church and the empowerment of Jesus' followers after his crucifixion and resurrection. Before ascending to Heaven, Jesus instructed his disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit. They gathered in an upper room and prayed, unsure of what to expect. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit arrived with the sound of a strong wind and tongues of fire rested on each person. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in languages they had never spoken before, led by the Holy Spirit. This attracted a crowd, and Peter preached his first sermon, resulting in 3,000 new believers being added to the church. The event demonstrated the power of the Holy Spirit and the transformative impact it had on people's lives. Every believer is called to share the message of Jesus and be a light to the world.

Steve Webb 1:08Acts Chapter One. Dear Theopolis. In my first book, I wrote about all the things that Jesus did and taught from the time he began his work until the time he was taken up to heaven. Before he was taken up, he gave instructions by the power of the Holy Spirit to the men he had chosen as his apostles. For 40 days after his death, he appeared to them many times in ways that proved beyond doubt that he was alive. They saw him and he talked with them about the kingdom of God. and when they came together, he gave them this order. Do not leave Jerusalem. But wait for the gift I told you about the gift my Father promised. John baptized with water, but in a few days,
