I'm joined by Michael R. Shea in this episode. He has a fascinating story of growing up not hunting to eventually being an editor for Field and Stream magazine to now the Senior Editor for Free Range American. He gives insight into the difference of being a contract editor versus staffed, and some of the ways you could go about getting into the world of writing yourself. He also shares about how they got to a flock of 200 chickens. We explore the idea of being a generalist vs. mastering a craft. It was really interesting to think about the advantages to being a generalist in a time when people really think you must master something. He even shares his infamous story about tanning a deer hide in his apartment in New York City. If you enjoy this episode I ask that you please leaves us a rating/review, and share it with your friends!
