Luckily, it rarely ever got physical, but as he and Heather discuss, the hurtful words had a deep impact on him into adulthood. He only recently came to a realization that believing IN YOURSELF, instead of believing those hurtful words, is what really matters. His message is to Believe in and invest in yourself, know that you are worth it. He even has a tattoo that says "worth it" to remind himself every day.
