Topic: Living Your Authentic Self Financially

Can we talk finances and money management?!? As a mom, I always feel like I’m ‘robbing Peter to pay Paul’. This becomes a bit challenging as a budding entrepreneur. The constant shift our finances may leave one to wonder if this entrepreneur journey is right for them. Only one in 10 African Americans work with a financial professional compared with one in four white Americans, according to the 2015-2016 African American Financial Experience Prudential report said. I get it-- we don’t want everybody to know our financial business. It leaves us open and vulnerable to criticism in how we should be handing our life….not that we should be having that line of thinking. With such a taboo topic (especially in the African American community), we will discuss the factors contributing to the lack of financial confidence in daily living and our small business, with Dorinda Walker.

About Dorinda Walker:

• What are 2 financial products and services a  mom and a mompreneur needs to incorporate into their business plan right now?  Why and what is the impact? What are the cost ranges?
• In your interview with Essence you mention the biggest mistake black women make with money is we do not talk about finances.  Can you expand upon why this is a big mistake we make? Is the mistake when we talk to girlfriends? significant others? ourselves?
• Women are less likely to have the confidence to invest in the stock market, do you find this true? Let’s expand on that.
• What do you suggest moms do today to carry on their financial legacy and break general curses?
• Talk to us about the book! How can it be useful in our daily life?
• You mentioned in your recent blog post "Marketers may want to consider developing their womens' marketing strategy by leading with the cultural insights of Black women."  What specifically can these mompreneurs do to develop a strategy that showcases and appeal to engage ourselves? 
• What is the perception about marketing black women-centered small developers/owners that misses the mark?
• What advice do you have for our future generations re: preserving a legacy?
