Description

Today on the show I am chatting with Whitney Kinne about unmasking performance. After leaving corporate America to be a stay at home mom, she realized she was being easily influenced by the connections around her and not intentionally reflecting and knowing the identity that Christ had given her. Though it was a purification process, she was reminded that her relationship with Christ was personal and individual, not performance based and How she needed to hold her expectations of motherhood more loosely.

We visit the subject of being aware of the culture you are placing yourself in, and the “woe is me” mentality which can rob you of seeing the joy of motherhood even in the mundane. When we focus on the negative, we fail to see the joy and how as Mothers we need to be consistently seeking God. Our faithful obedience in the next 20 minutes is more important than in the next 20 years.

Jeremiah 17:7-8

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
