In many Black communities, the emphasis on being strong is rooted in a long history of systemic oppression, discrimination, and survival. Being “strong" often means: suppressing emotions and resilience through being ‘tough’. On this episode guests and I discuss the mental health of young black boys and discover that resilience requires self awareness, emotions are valid in healing and that strength through vulnerability should be celebrated
