Friends, it's hard to come up with anything clever or quippy to say about this one. Homebound is an honest, heartfelt depiction of friendship and love in the face of adversity and oppression. It leverages a nearly universal experience-- the COVID pandemic and lockdown-- as an opportunity to insist that its audience grapple with its privilege, the systems that tear down marginalized communities, and question traditional markers of success and prosperity. And based on comments from its producer, we'll be lucky if we ever get a movie like it out of Hindi cinema again.
