Vines can be invasive, covering native trees. In John 15, Jesus Christ compares Himself to a vine with His disciples as fruitful branches, pruned for increase productivity. By abiding in Jesus, disciples produce spiritual fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, self-control.
God is the Judge, and vengeance belongs to God, not us.
