Day 1 – January 1, 2026
This is Day 1 of a year-long chronological Bible reading plan that harmonizes the Scriptures, presenting events in approximate order while including multiple accounts of the same events for a fuller picture.
- Genesis 1:1 – 2:25
- God creates the heavens, earth, light, sky, land, plants, sun, moon, stars, sea creatures, birds, animals, and finally humanity in His image.
- On the seventh day God rests, blesses it, and establishes the pattern of Sabbath; He forms man from dust, plants the Garden of Eden, and creates woman from man’s rib.
- Luke 1:1–4
- Luke, having carefully investigated everything, writes an orderly account for Theophilus so that he may be certain of the truth.
- This serves as the preface to his Gospel, emphasizing reliable eyewitness testimony.
- John 1:1–18
- In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), who was with God and was God; through Him all things were created, and He is the source of life and light.
- The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, bringing grace and truth; John the Baptist testifies to Him as the true light, and those who receive Him become children of God.
