Description

Read Day 2 – January 2, 2026

(This is part of a year-long chronological/harmonized Bible reading plan that follows the biblical narrative in order.)

Genesis 3:1 – 4:26

- The serpent deceives Eve, leading to the Fall: Adam and Eve disobey God, bringing sin, shame, and curse into the world.

- God pronounces judgments (pain in childbirth, toil, expulsion from Eden); Cain murders Abel, and the line of Seth is introduced as the godly remnant.

Matthew 1:1-17

- The genealogy of Jesus Christ is traced through three sets of 14 generations: from Abraham to David, David to the exile, and exile to Christ.

- The list establishes Jesus as the promised Messiah, the legal heir of David and rightful King, through Joseph’s line.
