Description

Youth civic engagement and voter participation are at an all-time low. As the 2024 presidential election draws near, the Dallas Youth Commission feared that youth would remain the lowest voting demographic. Partnering with Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet junior Amaad Garrett, the DYC established the Youth Democracy Committee.

Join Toni, Andrea, and Tyhler as they discuss the foundations of the committee and its goals. From voter registration drives to candidate forums, the Committee aims to boost youth civic engagement and voter turnout for the 2024 presidential election. Through nonpartisan outreach, education, and mobilization efforts, the Committee seeks to inform young voters about the issues at stake and empower them to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
