In this episode, we extend our conversation about the difference between descriptive and prescriptive norms. Confusing these two has been characterized as the "naturalistic fallacy," and a common error is to equate "natural" or "normal" with "good" and "unnatural" or "abnormal" with bad. While examples are readily available to show this is untenable, it would also be a mistake to discard normativity altogether. And finally!--more basketball talk.
