I model how to use the steps and what the opposite looks like as well. I also define self-care as not about running from the moment or the emotion but taking an action toward resolution or just being kind to ourselves like we’d want a friend to do for themselves.
Four Steps:
1- recognize/acknowledge/accept
2- you remind yourself you’re not alone in this
3- show yourself compassion
4- be kind to yourself by taking some small action
