- People gathered at Water Gate, requested to hear the Law

- People's response:
- Stood in reverence
- Said "Amen, Amen" with lifted hands
- Remained attentive throughout
Two Responses (v.9-12)
- Weeping - Conviction of sin
- Joy - Leaders reminded them to celebrate the holy day

Discovery & Obedience (v.13-18)

- Discovered Feast of Tabernacles instructions
- Hadn't been properly celebrated since Joshua's time
- Immediately built booths and celebrated 7 days

- Result: "very great gladness"
