The Driftless 100 is a 100-mile, 60-mile or 30-mile gravel ride through the beautiful hills of the Driftless region of Northeast Iowa. Starting and finishing in Elkader, Race Director Mat Fassbinder hosted an entire weekend of camping, food, fellowship and some very scenic gravel riding. Mat invited Bike Talk with Dave host Dave Mable to see the course and experience the long, steep climbs, incredible vistas and winding river valleys in and around Elkader. In this episode, Dave takes you along on the ride as he enjoys the late April day on his bike. He also talked with the men's and women's 100-mile winners Sarah Widder and Michale Lambert as well as the women's second place finisher Torey Lasater. Volunteer Cory Rood (recent winner of the 340-mile Iowa Wind and Rock) and Director Mat Fassbinder share their stories from the day.
