In John 15 Jesus instructs His disciples the ways in which He brings about more fruit in their lives: pruning from the Father and abiding in Him. In order to have true, deep, lasting peace in this world we must remain in Christ and yield to the Holy Spirit. Superficial peace is all around us, but the charge for us from Scripture is to surrender our lives to the God of peace and allow Him to fill us with His Spirit.
