When talking about spiritual gifts it’s important to think of them in the context of The Greatest Gift. Jesus said in John 16:14, “He [the Holy Spirit]will glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you.” The gifts are given to glorify Christ—to build up His body the church, and to show the power and truth of Christ to the unbelieving world. The gifts are vitally important, yet Scripture tells us there is a more excellent way.
