You don’t see too many people trying to hike Mount Everest in shorts and a t-shirt. They wouldn’t last very long. Most mountain climbers count the cost, prepare for the climb, wear special thermal gear, and prep for months in advance. As the Apostle Paul begins to close out his letter to the Colossian church, he encourages them to pray, to proclaim, to perform, and to prepare as they live in the world but are not of the world. Jesus said as lawlessness increases the love of many will grow cold. Christian’s need wisdom to keep their hearts on fire for the Lord, while trying to reach those in the cold, dark world all around. The answer is putting on the light of Christ, and the blizzard all around will not prevail.
