The horror genre gets turned on its head in this 2019 American-Swedish film directed by Ari Aster. This was an unexpected surprise that provided a powerful emotional experience. Florence Pugh gives a dynamic performance amongst a strong ensemble cast that transports our American sensibilities into a nightmare of cultural underpinnings of relationships, family and life. I can never look at a bear the same way again.
