Dr. Sarah Louisa Birchley: is a seasoned academic, consultant, and researcher with over two decades of experience in Japan. Her speciality covers business administration and entrepreneurship. Currently a professor in the faculty of business administration at Toyo Gakuen University, she also serves as the director of international exchange, where she oversees global internship and study abroad programmes across multiple countries. Sarah’s research interests place a particular emphasis on self-initiated expatriate entrepreneurs and diaspora entrepreneurship.
Beyond academia, she offers consultancy services, assisting individuals and SMEs in Japan and the United Kingdom to navigate global markets. Sarah is also a board member at Global Welsh, contributing to initiatives that connect the Welsh diaspora worldwide.
