In an attempt to have their own marketable team of misfits set to copyrighted music, DC made plenty of eyebrows raise when announcing that the third movie of its universe would be Suicide Squad, helmed by one David Ayer. And when you take a studio not willing to commit to a tone, a filmmaker who was only given six weeks to write the whole thing, multiple editing studios slicing up the project, and an actor more concerned with media coverage about his role than the role itself, you get the exact kind of movie you'd expect.
