Long before they started the show last fall, the boys had one series of films in particular at the top of their list to tackle: the Saw franchise. Coming from humble beginnings, this film was the brainchild of recently-graduated film students James Wan and Leigh Whannell, and after its release, it would propel the two into Hollywood filmmaking stardom, while the franchise itself became a permanent staple in the horror genre, inspiring numerous grotesque films and spawning more sequels than you can shake a puppet at.
