Chris Forland graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA with a BS of Electrical Engineering & Economics in 1977. He then spent 23 years with GE in various roles of increasing responsibility in the industrial and power industries. Chris left GE and joined Emerson Process Control which brought he and his wife Jill to Austin, TX. Chris was an officer with Emerson when he retired in 2016. He lost his wife of 36 years to cancer in 2020. As an engineer, he has been recording and sharing his journey with grief as he rebuilt his life.
