Description

Maria Hatch-Bowersock is a mother of 4, author and public speaker. To say her story of tragedy and trauma are unbelievable would be an understatement. Through it all she has continued to learn and grow and now she is in grad school for Clinical Mental Health Counseling (long term goal to focus on trauma and impact it has on the brain), with the goal of helping and supporting those who have suffered trauma.

In Maria’s own words, “The greatest accomplishments I have experienced in my life have been at the crux of simply being – being still, being present, being with the moment whatever that moment entails. I have written a book, spoke from stages, been on podcasts to tell a story of overcoming, but none of that mattered when it came at the expense of myself, of my healing and recovery. Truth be told, the greatest teachers of my life are not seen in my accomplishments but in my grief. When I finally stopped running from the pain and turned toward it, sat in it, and faced it head on is when true accomplishment unearthed. Grief has taught me how to love. Trauma has taught me how to be present. Pain has revealed a strength that can hold the tension of both grief and hope.”
